After 28 years as one of the leaders in home automation and security, Home Automation Inc. (HAI) has retired its name. The organization is now formally part of Leviton Security & Automation, a new division under its new parent company. Leviton acquired HAI last August.
The move is part of an initiative to “help unify Leviton’s 25,000 products from various business units (residential, commercial, industrial, etc.),” longtime HAI marketing director Greg Rhoades told CEPro. “New automation products will simply have the ‘Leviton’ logo in the corner and we’re working on finalizing labels and packages now to further tie us into the immense family of Leviton products.”
(Some products will still be shipping with the HAI logo, until Leviton’s existing stock is upgraded to the new logo.)
Today, Home Controls has rebranded our entire HAI collection as Leviton Security & Automation. It’s a new name, with the same great automation system. www.homecontrols.com/manufacturers_list/Leviton-Security-Automation
“Leviton’s acquisition of HAI represents a significant expansion of our offerings in the residential market, and furthers Leviton’s commitment to providing customers with the latest technologies as affordable, easy-to-use solutions,” said Daryoush Larizadeh, Chief Operating Officer of Leviton. “Leviton and HAI are two established brands coming together to offer a complete whole home automation solution that customers can trust.”
HAI will operate as a new, standalone business unit and maintain operations in New Orleans. The new business unit is being managed by Jay McLellan, current CEO and president of HAI, who will report directly to Daryoush Larizadeh.
“We are proud to be part of the Leviton team, joining a company with a rich history and well-established brand,” added Mr. McLellan. “Through the combined technologies from Leviton and HAI, we anticipate continued growth and innovation in the home automation space, providing homeowners with additional advancements for years to come.”
