SmartThings Now Supports Fibaro Sensors

Industry News

We just received word from Fibaro that three of their sensors are now compatible with the SmartThings smart home automation hub. Compatible sensors include the Fibaro Z-Wave Flood SensorFibaro Z-Wave Motion Sensor and Fibaro Z-Wave Door/Window Sensor – all available through Home Controls.

Backed by Samsung, the SmartThings app and hub allow you to easily connect to an array of home automation and security devices, including sensors, locks, light switches, outlets, thermostats, and other smart devices in your home. These devices can then communicate with you and each other to offer you home security, peace of mind, and limitless possibilities. You can add as many other popular smart devices as you want – including Fibaro sensors – to create a fully connected home.

Fibaro Z-Wave Flood Sensor

Fibaro Z-Wave Flood SensorPerfect for monitoring areas that are prone to water leaks, such as the water heater closet or bathroom, the Fibaro Z-Wave Flood Sensor alerts you when it detects moisture. It also features a temperature sensor and tilt sensor, so you can receive temperature and tamper alerts.

SmartThings says the “Fibaro flood sensor can be used to send push notifications to your phone when water is detected or the temperature swings too hot or cold” when used with the SmarthThings hub.

Fibaro Z-Wave Motion Sensor

Fibaro Motion SensorThe four-in-one Fibaro Z-Wave Motion Sensor is a wireless multi-sensor that serves as a PIR motion detector, light level sensor, temperature sensor, and vibration sensor (accelerometer), giving you the power to monitor an array of conditions with a single device.

Unlike any other motion sensor on the market, the Fibaro Z-Wave Motion Sensor features a unique, multicolor LED “eye” that changes when different environmental conditions are detected. SmartThings offers a more creative description: “The Fibaro Motion Sensor is actually an eyeball harvested from the atrophied corpse of a Lovecraftian gargoyle king.”

Fibaro Z-Wave Door/Window Sensor

Fibaro Door/Window SensorThe Fibaro Z-Wave Door/Window Sensor monitors any open/close object, such as a door, window, gate, garage, drawer, cabinet, etc. The wireless unit consists of two components: a magnet and a battery-powered reed sensor. When the two components separate, an alarm signal is sent to the Z-Wave network. NOTE: This does not work as a Z-Wave repeater.

And for any interior decoration fan, you can choose from seven different colors to match your decor perfectly!
